My work with The Arrow Foundation is to engage churches nationwide with resources to equip and mobilize the people of God to care for abused, neglected and orphaned children. Our mission is to see the Church go "All IN" for the cause of fostering, adopting and providing alternative forms of care for those whom God the Father is uniquely concerned - the orphan.
The "All In" Orphan Care Church-Wide Campaign
I couldn't be more excited to a give you a preview of the 10-week comprehensive church-wide orphan care campaign we are developing that pastors and ministry leaders around the country can utilize to help establish a culture of orphan care within their churches and implement ministries around the cause. The full campaign package will include 3 primary resources. Churches can choose to use any or all of the resources as they determine what will serve their particular objectives best:
1. Preaching/Teaching Series (available Fall '14)
A full "ALL IN" sermon series campaign including sermon concept outlines, service planning resources, video stories and a full branding package. The purpose of the series will be to establish a biblical perspective on the theology of our adoption through Jesus, help people understand God's heart for the marginalized and orphaned in scripture and encourage them to explore opportunities they have to get involved.
2. Ministry "Launch" Event
Community is essential in seeing a culture of orphan care established in churches. We will provide practical steps for how to implement a unique orphan care ministry "launch" event for the church. This will be an incredible opportunity for people to see that there are others in the church with a similar heart for the orphan…and to realize they are a part of something much bigger than themselves.
3. Six-Week Small Group Curriculum (available Spring '14)
The most significant component of the campaign is the 6-Week "ALL IN" Orphan Care Small Group Curriculum. Not only will it provide churches the opportunity to establish a stronger network of orphan care minded individuals within their community but it will also serve as the primary equipping and application resource for individuals and families who are already involved in caring for orphans or for those who are interested in learning more about getting involved. At its core, this study is about the theology of the Gospel of our adoption into the family of God through the work of Jesus and how we can vividly declare and demonstrate that through our care of the marginalized, abused, neglected and orphaned.
THE 6 SESSIONS WILL INCLUDE:
- What Is An Orphan And Why Should We Care for Them?
- The Theology of Adoption
- How Orphan Care Displays the Gospel
- The Other Side of Orphan Care (exploring prevention and reunification)
- Making Orphan Care Small (changing the world of at least one)
- Identifying Your Role
